I found a story from one of the pod-cast I have been listening to: Snap Judgement, It is called “Til Death Do Us Part” a story about Marina Nemat, An Iranian Christian, and her struggles during her teenage years in Tehran. The interesting thing is that we have the same age and while she was suffering in the notorious Evin Prison, in 1982, condemned on a life sentence, minutes to being executed by a firing squad; I was having one of the best times of my life in Lima, Peru. I don’t feel bad, but it puts life into perspective, the many things that we take for granted. I don’t think if I was put in the same condition, I would have survived.
If you have a chance listen to her story or read this beautiful essay she put together:
Let me know if you are moved by it.
