Herencia de Timbiqui is a Colombian music group dedicated to the Western Music of Colombia, on the Pacific Ocean. Very rich from a cultural perspective, still many african heritage customs have not been lost here. Maybe some incorporation through time, of a few “traditions” with the Andean and Colonial European (Spain) but not as much.
I Love this song because it also makes me think of growing up in Peru. The song reminds me of the innocence and cultural experience that seeped through all my five senses back then. There’s a sense of pride that some how being Colombian, and feeling this music, I can be in a way, partly connected and identified through these sounds and the beautiful people of this region.
Amanece ( Night rise: as a verb action. pronounced with the strong accent on the last e) Is another song that visually stimulates the soul because of the earthy taste, the flavor of people and being in touch with what’s real:
Esa es mi gente y su música!!
(That’s my People and their music)
